ROCKFORD (WREX) — Children in Rockford got on their feet and moving Saturday thanks to the “Y.”
Rockford’s SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA hosted its first Kids Expo on Saturday to showcase all of its youth programs.
The goal of the event is to educated kids on how to live a healthy lifestyle.
The “Y” says it wants families to be familiar with what their regional YMCAs have to offer with programming beginning in the next week.
“We wanna feature both what we offer at our “Y” but also what’s offered regionally,” says Trisha Tousant, COO of the Rockford Riverfront YMCA. “What’s in Beloit, what’s in Roscoe, what are opportunities to do all over the area at the “Y”.”
Organizers say the event’s success has them excited to continue it in the coming years.
